 Blog #3

-Copyright and the idea of fair use is a heavy topic in the idea that originality and personal credit are important in the world. I say this because if plagiarizing was not a law the idea that promoting individuality and creative thinking as well as the creation of ideas oneself would be very rare. When one is doing an assignment to analyze certain ideas the offer of taking an easy road is more tempting than to build upon your own ideas and further the pursuit of knowledge.

-For the first idea of Student privacy giving a certain level of trust to students when online may open up better communication and want to take part in their own learning. Giving little to no privacy treats them as if they were not to be trusted in the first place and so this leads to the need for defiance to fulfill the idea of discovering individuality in a harmful way. You get what you give in other words. For the second issue of decreased productivity having technology is meant to give an easier and more effective way to do things but in turn, this does cause a slight level of laziness and so to counteract that the idea of finding programs that stimulate students thinking and almost in an
unconscious way forces them to have the productivity but in a new way.

-For skills, I learned making the newsletter I liked the ideas of the columns which I had never used before and it was very confusing but once I was able to figure it out it helped me make my pice more appealing to the eye. Also, the permission slip was also very frustrating being able to type over the inserted shape can help me in the future, though I could better the ways in which I design

the background to help.

Blog Entry 2

Throughout my education career, I have used Microsoft Word for so many things. Within my primary school experience, I used it mainly to write my papers and essays. Now I use it not only for my papers but to take notes for classes or meetings in my fraternity, as well as design outlines for projects or layouts for lesson plans. I honestly prefer this software over google docs or any other software because for me personally, I feel it is easy to navigate and to use. The tools are mostly self-explanatory and easy to find. To be able to save all my work easily to my laptop or personal cloud account which makes it easy to transport to anywhere I need online.

For the teacher standards, all of them are very important for a teacher to use within their classrooms, but the one that would be most important to me would most likely be the 2.3 Citizen standard. I say this because teaching kids giving them the knowledge to be able to go to college or advance intellectually within the world needs to be supported by the social aspect of society and technology is now a vital part of our own day-to-day lives. Especially in the past few years, our online presence is neccessary and the professional attitude for which we hold ourselves online has more attention spotlighted on it. With that teaching, our students proper and respectful ways to be online and to use the technological tools online can not online continue to build their knowledge intellectually but also teach them how to protect themselves and others online by showing them the respectful way to act while in certain situations.

I do agree with the term "Digital Native" because if you really look at the way in which my generation grew up we were not only exposed to technology early on into our development but we also grew up along with the technological developments that we see today. For instance the year I was born (2001) flip phones still had a heavy presence and so did pagers, but now the younger generations after me have no clue what those are. My generation evolved with the technology and we navigated every change so our understanding and skill with it are extensive to say mildly. When looking at the relationship of the "Natives vs the Immigrants" I have seen a difference but only mildly. Most of my teachers have learned and explored technology to more extensive lengths than I but for me knowing how to use technology is almost a second language and so sometimes they show me things that I didn't even know. But I did have some teachers who did struggle with even the basic technology which sometimes I felt hindered my learning at times.

Online badges are actually very unknown to me. I have never used badges or come across them so my ability to speak on this matter is very scarce.

 Hey Y'all!

My name is A.J Klune and I am a performer and education major at Florida State University. I love music and I play the euphonium and that is a very large part of who I am as a person. The moment I decided to play the euphonium I call my "love at first sight moment" which if any title could show its emotional depth I don't think there could be anything better. If anyone asked me to describe myself in only a few words I believe my answer every time would definitely be short, band, and my truck. Simple yet very interesting, at least in my own opinion.

For my past experience with educational technology I have used lots of soft ware such as Microsoft word, PowerPoint, and excel. As well as basic websites such as canvas, google classroom ,and a software called PowerSchool. These are basically software websites that I have all of my class materials and assignments, as well as grades and instructor information if ever needed. I have also used websites that enhance learning with educational games or flashcards to help learn material. One that I still use in college would be Quizlet. Others would be from years ago like Mathway, and other game based learning websites.

For my Personal Learning networks I personally really like to utilize the people around me with similar skills and knowledge to help grow in my own. Facebook is also a heavily used resource because it give me a way to learn from people who are not in the same area as I am, such as other bands at other universities, or even professional ensembles that I can watch or listen to. So if my ensemble is playing a certain piece I can find a recording of another professional ensemble who has played the same piece and I can listen to how each of the parts play into each other and how the piece overall sounds so I can go and practice and know which techniques I need to use and also shape my own interpretation of the piece.
